Back in October 2002, researchers at the Swedish Interactive Institute – a part of RISE – reached out to us for a market research of a prototype game they had developed. The game was about two players moving a physical ball along a track – using their brainwaves!
Fascinated by its potential, we acquired the rights to further develop the concept. Just a few months later, we sold our first Mindball.
The original prototype had an algorithm where the more relaxed player would win. We refined this to emphasize focus instead, recognizing that a calm state of mind is required to focus. Over the years, our algorithm has evolved through collaboration with neuroscientists, scientific research, and insights from our own data.
Our primary customers have always been science centers – places where children and adults alike explore science through hands-on learning.
PR agencies have also used Mindball to draw attention at events, and we’ve had the pleasure of working with major organizations like Coca-Cola, Nike, BBC and MIT.
Today, Mindball is considered a must-have for any science center with ambition, pride, and a passion for innovation.
